About Carrie Hopkins-Doubts
Carrie's life’s work is to support people going through the upheaval and chaos of major life transitions and the sense of profound loss and identity confusion that are part of these changes.Â
She helps people embrace change as a co-creative partner and transformational opportunity, rather than wasting precious time, energy, and money resisting and reacting to these changes.
Hi, I'm Carrie...
As the founder of Life’s Next Chapter Coaching, my passion is helping men and women accelerate
their healing process, discover new dreams for themselves, and consciously and powerfully rebuild their lives. I help people reconnect with their heart, reclaim their power, and realign with their purpose to create their life’s next chapter.
People who have lost a spouse or life partner due to divorce or death are struggling to discover how to be a “me” after being a “we” for so long. That was certainly my challenge when my husband of thirteen years and I suddenly divorced. Like many of you, I found it difficult to “just move on” and “get over it”. I was in excruciating pain, and yet I was determined to learn from this experience so I could avoid repeating my mistakes in the future. I felt compelled to create something meaningful and beautiful out of this pain, so I immersed myself in self-development and personal growth.
In 1995, I earned a Master of Arts in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica, where I later spent nearly 20 years as Director of Education Administration and Faculty Development, and 10+ years as faculty in the Spiritual Psychology Program. I hold a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential with the International Coach Federation, a professional coaching certification from iPEC, a Certified Grief Counselor credential from the American Academy of Grief Counseling, and I'm a Certified Transformational Presence Coach.
I founded Life's Next Chapter Coaching in 2013. While most of my peers moved into executive and business coaching, I felt called to something different: supporting people through the hardest transitions of their lives. My background in clinical, transpersonal, and spiritual psychology had already given me years of experience holding space for people in emotional upheaval — but coaching gave me the tools to help them do more than survive it. I wanted to help people consciously build the life waiting for them on the other side.
In 2021, I became a widow overnight when my husband Tom died suddenly. It was the most humbling teacher I've had — proof that I'm strong and resilient, and that even in loss, I'm never truly alone. Before Tom's death, I could guide others through grief with a map of the territory. Now I've walked it myself, sometimes on my hands and knees. When you sit with me and share your story, you can trust that I know exactly what you're talking about.
I believe deeply in service. I currently chair the Ethics Independent Review Board for the International Coaching Federation, facilitate sessions for the World Business and Executive Coach Summit, and have led free monthly divorce support groups for over 7 years. I'm also a Senior Partner with the Wellness Universe.

“Carrie Doubts is an innovator in the field of grief recovery. I am a mental health professional and, from my experience of her, Carrie ranks up there with the very best coaches in this area.Â
She was instrumental in holding the vision of my future that I was unable to hold for myself. She shared with me that after a year I would have an entirely different attitude toward my experience – and she was completely accurate. I have turned the page on the painful experiences of the past and I am living my life in gratitude for the many blessings I receive. Working with Carrie has assisted me in leading a transformed life and I am eternally grateful.”
